Astrotheology

Most people do not realize that Astrotheology (the study of the stars) actually is the source model of all western religions. Western religions are all based in cosmic time, celestial bodies, movements of the planets, and location of the sun through the solar system. This lends reason to why Mars is related to a war god in Greek mythology, while Ra is a sun god in Egyptian esoterics. Baal is a storm/water god in Canaanite mythology while Yahweh appears as a fire/cloud god in Israelite biblical history. This is why the story of Mithra, an Iranian deity of light, models the life of Jesus, a solar deity in Christianity. This is why Christians celebrate on SUNday every week, because Christians unwittingly follow a solar deity, the “son” of god, or “God’s Son”. This is why major celebrations like Easter and Jesus’ birth, are dates that coincide the major pagan holidays like Spring Equinox and Winter Solstice. In fact, Easter to this very day is chosen by the timing of the full moon and vernal equinox—this is because Easter has nothing to do with an actual date in time for the birth of a man, and everything to do with Pagan, Spring sex ritual dates based on the full moon—when to plant seeds for the summer and fall harvests, and when to have a tribal orgy. Easter and Christmas dates were chosen to align with already established Roman pagan holidays which came originally from tribal holidays, so to coincide with the already established pagan traditions of the Roman populace. It was purely a convenience thing, not a historical thing. Christianity was in fact organized and enforced by Constantine and Levantine Bishops as a way to force together a crumbling Roman Empire spread thin from the conquests of Alexander, not to spread a message of hope to a desperate nation seeking freedom from tyranny. My Astrotheology series is a study of not only these kinds of eye-popping details lurking below all western religions, but the barbaric societies that developed into the conflict oriented ethos we endure to this day.

All western belief systems ultimately source back to Astrotheology and Shamanism: intense, complex, nature oriented spiritual disciplines bathed in plants, ritual, and naked eye star gazing. The shaman ensured the sky’s reading which insured the correct planting time of the crops, correct time for the women to conceive, predicted storms and invasions, settled inner tribal disputes as local psychologist and medicine man, initiated, lead, and carried out all festivals and rituals, and secured the tribes relationship to Nature. That is why all western religions eventually source back to the stars and shamans— because they secured the rhythms of our most sacred human essentials: food, protection, childbirth, and spiritual awakening.
