Philosophy

In this series we philosophize the world to escape the barriers, or Maya, or illusions, material life suggests.

We live in a Wonder, and so life is more than its surface coating. The coating, or material layer, is just one level, or floor, or suggestion, of the Real. So philosophy is a way to penetrate hardened layers that have kept new ideas and creative thought from entering your mind.

Philosophy is a form of presenting truth in a way that does not require absolutes to render. Like a koan, a good philosophical discussion suggests “short cuts” or upaya (incomplete reasoning), to access life truths that evade mind as a natural counter-measure; because Nature does not give her secrets away easily: you creatively resolve to them, or painfully learn from them. For this reason then, it would behoove you, and humanity for that matter, to consider philosophy, as it is unfortunately for most, the last-ditch signpost driven over on the way to life catastrophe.

Philosophy helps us navigate life’s traps, so that as we live and make decisions, we act from a space of holding the ball (inspiration), rather than behind the ball (reaction). We always step in such a way that action is “pre-aged in the barrel” so to speak, and therefore behavior comes out like inspired wine, not reactionary tonic. This is the point of philosophy. To tease out from the individual appropriate choices and behavior from the inside, naturally, through reason, logic, and common sense. Philosophy offers a playground to test-drive life theories, and by criticizing and discerning the surfaces, a larger game field is recognized and so a more harmonious, nonplussed, appropriate, relative life can be lived. A good philosophy will help you escape egregores through common-sense logic and reason, long before your “truth” collapses, the hard way.
