Greetings from the lair!

Wow — I have been neck-deep in study this week and writing nonstop. I feel full of life and emergence, and I am very grateful for this moment.

Hands Dirty Zen is coming along nicely. Today I finished the rough draft of the first chapter. I am very happy with it and will read some of it during the live at 5 p.m. tonight. It’s amazing what you see when you go back later and read what you wrote just 24 hours earlier. Most of the time it’s great, but sometimes I think, “Now what the hell was I thinking there?!” Lol. Again, the fact that my dad was a one-pass-to-the-editor writer is just phenomenal. I still can’t fathom it.

I will keep flowing this way, chapter by chapter, and go with it as it comes. This book is different from my first in its emergence. The work is more fluid, and I understand better how my brain works. My writing will improve on this second go because my thoughts are more developed. Like anyone else, I see everything more clearly than I did years ago. Zen sharpens us all. It’s like parenting: everyone does a better job with the second child. We sharpen as we age.

The slides from the series have proved to be a superb basis to work from — better than I expected. It provides the hard data of The Way of Zen essential texts and Zen assets. I can write from them, and with that open the material and clarify it in more readable terms. The book lets me be more expansive, thoughtful, and provocative with the concepts. Not being limited to a few slides is a real benefit with something as deep as Zen.

Between the book and the lecture series, a person can reach a full grasp of the basics of Zen and how it contrasts with the Western spiritual thesis. Unintentionally — believe it or not — the book and video series will be the perfect toolkit for people who, in the coming decade, become disillusioned with Western religion’s conflict oriented world picture. Many will be looking for a way of compassion and love that does not require a religious institution or cult membership. Pure experience, philosophy, and psychology are what any human basically needs in order to realize an expansive sense of things, and Zen is an exit strategy to that end. I personally feel that is where society — any Western society, at least — is headed.

The odd part of all this is the spontaneity. A real story has come out of this effort, and the Zen series is a spawn of that story. Incredible. And all because of the support the Nature Creature family offered when they bought me a computer as the ship was sinking. True story — and we have the videos to prove it!

Essentially, none of what has happened was planned, or could have been planned. It has all been fate and compassion. Nature Creature came out of life the way we came out of the Earth. A truly humane enterprise. It’s unbelievable what has happened, and I am glad to share this epiphany with you…because it is the real deal. We don’t get a lot of authenticity in public anymore, and I am glad we have reshaped that discourse in our tiny corner of the internet. The Nature Creature hero’s journey is in full career, ladies and gentlemen, and our public interaction is a living testimony of transformation.

In the Great Awakening movement, we are the tip of the healing spear.

It’s wild how YouTube has been a key fuel for our story — an invisible wave sending energy out to the masses, right into the public hands and homes. What has happened is what that wave attracted, and here we all are: 30 lives saved / transformed and counting. Data now used to help educate college students. Countless hours of awakening material in permanent residence on the internet — available to anyone who can access the web, anywhere in the world, for the rest of time. People are now flying in from as far as Scotland to join other Nature Creature family members to share in the joy of being alive. In fact, an annual party in celebration of that connection has now been born. It’s happening, and it’s epic.

The Nature Creature message is reaching many people, and it is having a positive effect on the world — exactly the calling of any STO. We are gathering and gaining strength, family. Spread the word. Introduce your friends to the weekly shows. Build the movement. We are grassroots, and we exist through your active participation.

Nature Creature is a harkening back to why humans are here, and I am so thankful to each of you for taking part at such high capacity. We are changing the world one Nature Creature at a time.
